2nd Year Student Achievements
and Program Outcomes
• Improvement in skills and personal abilities to problem solve and make adult decisions in areas of personal responsibility, adult life situations and interpersonal relationships.
• Practice and experience in developing coping mechanisms and skill sets to use when dealing with interpersonal conflicts.
• Understand what constitutes the appropriate boundaries for him of intimate relationships such as dating, nature of friendships, what to watch for in people you can't trust, and how to avoid becoming exploited or a victim.
• Improve awareness of how to interact with others in the workplace setting on an interpersonal level.
• Basic working understanding of employment rights and use of self-advocacy in terms of reasonable accommodations necessary for success in the world of work.
• Develop the ability/confidence to approach the human resources department, perceive the role they serve to new employees, and appropriate ways to access their assistance.
• Develop skill capacity to recognize when it is appropriate to disclose and how to disclose disabilities in work, family, or social situations.
• Sustain individual behaviors and efforts necessary to locate, apply, interview, and maintain continuous competitive employment with staff assistance/tracking for at least six months.
• Write, evaluate, revise and present a career plan consistent with assessed and/or expressed occupational interests, values, abilities and aptitudes.
• Determine a career direction or specific career decision with subsequent enrollment or employment placement.
• Develop and follow a basic budget that utilizes income from employment to pay personal bills, and put aside enough money to move into own apartment in the future.
• Develop a plan that utilizes LDI extension services in support of career direction or decision.
