School Accreditation

Life Development Institute Accreditation since 2006

The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School
Improvement is responsible for the accountability of schools with
postsecondary designation in accordance with federal regulations.

The NCA CASI strives to work closely with postsecondary institutions to ensure

the quality of the education provided to students. The process of institutional
accreditation provides an avenue to utilize a variety of criteria to assess the
effectiveness of postsecondary programs.

Benefits of Accreditation

"...the greatest benefits of accreditation are the external mark of quality, high
standards, and school improvement process and support."

Through AdvancED, accredited schools and districts enjoy a range of benefits including:

  • A distinctive mark of quality, recognized internationally, that affords external
recognition of the school's or district's commitment to quality.
  • Community Partners coming soon.
  • Standards based on research on factors that impact student learning.
  • Proven, clear, and intuitive processes for school improvement that are grounded in best practices from the education and business fields.
  • A framework and support system to help meet local, state, national, and appropriate international requirements.
  • Professional development opportunities such as annual conferences and state
workshops on all aspects of school improvement.
  • An opportunity to gain valuable input, validation, and support from peers.
  • Connection to peer-recommended practices, best practices, and resources and tools across 23,000 public and private schools.
  • Customized and technical assistance to maximize improvement efforts.
  • Access to guides, handbooks, primers, resources, tools and Web sites aimed at
    enhancing improvement efforts.
  • Transferability of credits to students from school to school.
  • Greater accessibility for students to federal loans, scholarships, post secondary
education, and military programs that require regional accreditation.

Perhaps more importantly, students benefit from accreditation because, through the process, their school or district has committed to raising student performance and will be held accountable for improving student learning on a continual basis.

School accreditation and student referral sources

The institute is a SEVIS approved school, and is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant foreign students through the Department of Homeland Security. It is also fully accredited through the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). It is recognized both in the United States and internationally as one of the leading programs for adults with disabilities (click here for Affiliations).

LDI also has contracts or vendor agreements with other adult agencies such as the State of Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration, Veterans Administration Vocational Rehabilitation Program, and the Arizona Department of Education Exceptional Student Services as an approved private special education program.

In addition, the program receives private referrals from a variety of sources such as national advocacy organizations, public school districts, private educational consultants, admission directors of other private programs, clinicians, practitioners, and word of mouth.
