Leon Johnson | Mentor
Leon Johnson is a dedicated weekend mentor. He is a battle hardened team member with many years of experience working with adolescent male and female youth at risk and young adults with learning disabilities. He enjoys working at LDI and helping the students reach their goals through the after-hours mentoring program.
Mr. Johnson is a former native of Chicago, Illinois, where he graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar Vocational High School. In Chicago, he worked with adolescent youth for the Chicago Board of Education, the State of Illinois and for private childcare programs. He attended Kennedy King Community College prior to moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1994.
He also lived in Tucson, Arizona for several years working with local youth in group homes as a full-time "Vision Quest" staff.
While now "retired," Leon enjoys traveling, computing, biking and activities that helps a body to stay healthy.
